By the way, the first video of my video series entitled "When Watching ASL Makes You Dizzy" has annotations for the deaf and hard of hearing throughout the entire video. I just started annotating Part 2. Sorry that I am slow to annotate all my videos but I am absolutely up to my eyeballs with stuff to do. :-(

I don't know much about the deaf groups here, as I had to quit all contact with ASL for many years due to my Migraine Associated Vertigo and how it was causing profound dizziness whenever I would see moving objects. I have improved a lot with medication, and am just now starting to try again with this. Now that I have my new deaf boyfriend, I am starting to meet other deaf people, as well as those at the church deaf ministry. I live in a relatively small city, btw.

I'm am deaf myself. I wasn't always deaf but I've been hard of hearing my entire life and my hearing decreased to deafness about 20 years ago (now 37). Would there happen to be any deaf groups in your area? For example in my area there's a group of deaf who do things together such as bowling league or softball league. I've gone to some of the softball games and there's always members of the group in the bleachers just having fun. Just spending time with friends who peak ASL might help. |
